The University of Djillali Bounaama, Khemis Miliana, represented by the Faculty of Social and Human Sciences at the new university campus with 6000 teaching seats, organized activities to celebrate the seventieth anniversary of Student Day, which falls on May 19, 2026.The event included a lecture on the significance of Student Day and the role of Algerian students in the liberation and nation-building process. Attendees also viewed various media activities and projects presented by media students at the college studio, showcasing their skills and creativity in the media and audiovisual fields.The celebration took place in a special atmosphere imbued with pride in the history of the Algerian student movement, and an emphasis on continuing the pursuit of science and knowledge in service to the nation.

The second semester exams have commenced under ideal conditions. We would like to thank the faculty management, lecturers, staff and security personnel for their efforts and dedication. We wish our dear students every success.

As part of the commemoration of National Remembrance Day and the 81st anniversary of the massacres of 8 May 1945, the Department of History at the Faculty of Social and Human Sciences organised a national symposium entitled : Crimes of French Colonialism in Algeria 1830–1962. The forum saw notable participation from academics from a large number of universities and research centres across the country, through both in-person and remote sessions, where the attending academics and students benefited from the valuable lectures delivered by the speakers. A highlight of the conference was the faculty’s tribute to the university rector in his capacity as a research professor and historian, on the occasion of the publication of his book “The Resistance of Sheikh Abdul Rahman bin Taher: National and Maghreb Perspectives, 1874–1931” Professor Dr. Qan Muhammad then gave a presentation on the book, highlighting its scientific and historical significance, which is considered a remarkable contribution to efforts to strengthen and preserve national memory.

The Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities organized a celebration today to mark Science Day in a wonderful academic and festive atmosphere, attended by a number of academic and official figures.The Faculty was honored by the presence of the University President, Prof. Dr. Brabah Mohamed Cheikh, accompanied by his deputies. Also in attendance were former university presidents, Mr. Ailam Al-Hajj and Mr. Mustapha Rahmoun, who were honored at the end of the ceremony in recognition of their efforts and dedication to the university.The ceremony was attended by local authorities, including the Head of the Khemis Miliana District, the Mayor, and the District Security Chief, as well as a number of senior officials.The event also featured the recognition of a select group of distinguished professors who received well-deserved academic promotions, whether to the rank of Professor of Higher Education (Professor) or those who obtained university certification and were promoted to the rank of Associate Professor “A.”Congratulations to all those honored, and we wish them continued excellence and success in their academic careers.

The Department of History at the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities is organizing a national symposium entitled “Algerian Intellectuals and Their Interaction with the National Movement and the Algerian Revolution: Malek Bennabi as a Model.”

On the occasion of the blessed Aïd al-Fitr, the Dean of the College of Social and Human Sciences, Professor Nasreddine Bouyahia, extends his warmest congratulations and best wishes to all the faculty members, administrative staff, and dear students of the college. On Monday, February 23, 2026, a training workshop was organized for Master’s 2+ students and third-year Bachelor’s students specializing in Information Technology and Documentation and Archival Science on the methodology for preparing the field internship report, supervised by Ms. Sabour Saida, Ms. Afri Jemila, and Mr. Mahdi ShabahiWe thank the professors very much for their valuable interventions, advice and guidanceWe also thank the students for their presence, interest, and enrichment of the discussion thanks to their valuable questions and initiatives.We also extend special thanks to the second bachelor’s degree students who showed great interest in the rose through their strong presence, even though they are not interested in lurking this year. Celebrating International Day of Women and Girls in Science, which falls on February 11 each year, Her Excellency Urška Kramberger Mendek, Ambassador of the Republic of Slovenia, visited the University of Jilali Bounaama in Khemis Miliana on Wednesday. She was welcomed by the entire university community, led by the University President, Prof. Dr. Brahab Mohamed Cheikh, accompanied by:the vice-rectors, deans of faculties, professors, and students from all academic disciplines.Local authorities were represented by the Secretary General of the Wilaya, the Head of the Khemis Miliana Department, and the President of the Municipal People’s Council of Khemis Miliana.
